Deze tekst omschrijft een uitwisseling van uitspraken (gedeeltelijk gebaseerd op een actie-reactie schema) tussen twee broederlijke subjecten.
De broeders lijken niet genaamd, maar merk op hoe "Broeder" in regel 8 van strofe 1 met hoofdletter is geschreven. Dit doelt op het onthullen van de ware naam van deze dolle "broeder" zegger.
Regel 9 geeft wederom een bijzonder inzicht. Dit uitroepteken toont niet zinseindigend wegens contextuele aanwijzingen. De taalexpert heeft zo op geniale wijze de wiskundige bedoelingen van de schrijver geopenbaard.
Regel 14 brengt ons tot een pre-climactische onverschilligheid en wel de formulering van de zin. De schrijver lijkt hier ofwel een nieuw, klinkerloos, enkel-letterig woord te introduceren gevolgd door de eigennaam "Was", ofwel de afkorting "'t" voor het woord "het" diens plek als woord in de zin te ontnemen door diens leesteken en rechten als zinstarten te verwaarlozen en naar het volgende woord door te schuiven, respectievelijk. Wat hier exact aan de hand is laat de schrijver als een oefening voor de lezer.
Extraction of truth from the cave-seeker
With indespensible care the authors of the original text have been identified and traced down. Even though they fled from our most thourough and just cause of unveiling what shalln't be cast into the abyss of ontruth, we managed to chain them into confrontation with our questions most dire. Thus, to us has been revealed what may have been the underlying thread throughout the story that sheds new light to our understandings. If any insight may cling to the uncertain, or indeed, if any falsehood at all peaks through the attempted searching of the indubitable verity, then this may be attributed to an undiscovered stain on our seemingly pacific methods to squeeze their sinister thoughts from their obscure, creative minds.
When finally the questioned and questioner's confrontation had been fatefully staged, it no longer could remain hidden that the presumed plural form of the authors cast itself into the light of singularity. And us, the questioners were now focused on only that single mind that held the answers to what may be the subliminal meaning of the text Brother of Fickleness that itself ventured into a tone most fickle. The author himself - after methods of sklent-scorching unnamed here - revealed to us the reasoning of one of the five protagonists of the story.
Just when the author desired to speak of these motives, us, the questioners, came to an uncomfortable realisation. Our questioning singleness was revealed in ways mysterious. With trepedation the I-tense would be inserted by the author of the author-questioning. And so, I continued to listen to what the Brother of Fickleness-author would spell out to me now.
The protagonist that the author was most keen about, concerned the man claiming the first brother-addressing encountered. It appeared that this man unconsciously realised his impending death and thereby projected his fate unto at least one other person[2] named by the reference formerly attributed to him. The final sentence reveals the treacherous mind of this[3] protagonist, who in fact is very well aware of the way things occur and in a morbid fashion reveals this knowledge to his sister.
Then, hearing this from the author, a thought hit me. Something that could not be unthought into the realm of forgottenness. For indeed, the author of Brother of Fickleness was I.
